Hôtel U Paradisu

Superb view and great staff.

Pros: without a doubt the view from (all)the rooms was just brilliant. Overlooking the Mediterranean with a distant view of Ajaccio directly opposite. The airport also a way off but allowed you to see planes taking off and landing and the many pleasure boats anchored off the shore. It was just idyllic first thing in the morning to sunset in the evening. The free parking was a bonus and one of the main reasons this hotel was chosen also the small private beach which allowed you to relax in reasonable comfort. The bedroom and bed was very large comfortable and clean and the bathroom was also very clean and regular change of towels was also appreciated. There were several restaurants and a Carrefour near by.

Cons: We felt that the hotel was a bit isolated-in as much as there was no public transport, although there was a regular ferry at €5 per crossing to Ajaccio and Les lies sanguinaires. (not sure of the cost for the latter) the ferry terminal was a 5/10 minute walk away. The bathroom needed a bit of TLC We decided on our last evening we would eat at the hotel restaurant. We were one of 4 tables of 2. We had to wait much longer than was necessary for our meal and Ice cream dessert another 20 minutes !! My meal (Gambas feuilleté) it was very salty and the gambas was very gritty. I made mention of this when my plate was removed and the waitress made no apology but said she would tell the chef. We heard nothing more and paid for the meal in full. A bit dissapointing. Not for paying, but no follow up. Also no fridge in the room when it was a very hot July. It would have been nice to keep water in particular, cold. I did say I would not stay there again. This was only because of the isolation. We would choose a hotel closer to Ajaccio with a pool next time. This purely a personal choice. The general area was a bit rundown.

Beachfront property, very friendly staff

Pros: Fantastic waterside location. Beach on your doorstep. Lovely breakfast. Secure parking. Very central to restaurants nightlife and main beach. Very friendly staff.

Nice hotel next to the sea with private beach

Pros: Very nice staff. The owners were very friendly. The property has a private beach and it is close to restaurants and other facilities. The rooms are comfortable and quiet with view to the sea.

Cons: No public transport to reach the hotel from the airport or Ajaccio city center.

Pros: Great location, over looking ocean with its own private beach in front. Very friendly staff, kindly allowing us early check in.

Pros: I enjoyed the sea view in the room and good breakfast on the terrace

Cons: It's not the most modern hotel and probably will need refurbishing soon

Paradisiaque, U Paradisu le bien nommé

Pros: chambres superbes récemment rénovées avec tout le confort et une vue paradisiaque sur le golfe d'Ajaccio et les sanguinaires, literie et propreté irréprochables, parking sécurisé, amabilité du personnel et de la direction très disponibles et à l'écoute du client, excellent petit déjeuner avec produits de qualité, idem pour le restaurant, petite plage propice aux baignades et snorkling aux pieds de l'hôtel avec transats à disposition, tout est réuni pour un séjour des plus agréables que nous aurions volontiers prolongé.

Cons: rien, quelques patères et étagères dans la salle de bain seraient un plus.

Pros: sehr gutes Frühstück auf der Terrasse mit Blick auf die Bucht; direkt am Strand gelegen; gute Küche, sicherer Parkplatz, sehr freundliches Personal

Cons: Der Flug-Betrieb in der Einflugschneise des Flughafens Ajaccio stört kaum; die Zimmer des ersten Stocks sind komplett saniert; die des zweiten Stocks - in dem wir wohnten - werden bis zur nächsten Saison komplett saniert; die Funktionalität in unserem in die Jahre gekommenen Zimmer war aber nicht eingeschränkt
